For optimal effectiveness, triage labels should be highly visible, adhere to standard categories, and securely fasten to the patient. Additionally, the label must allow for adjustments to the casualty&#8217;s priority as their condition evolves. Civilian patients are grouped into the following categories of decreasing treatment priority:\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h5>\u201cP1\u201d \u2013 Immediate (Red):<\/h5>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Requires immediate lifesaving treatment, exhibiting time-critical, life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<h5>\u201cP2\u201d \u2013 Urgent (Yellow): <\/h5>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demands significant intervention at the earliest opportunity, indicating an inability to walk due to injury or illness.<\/p>\n<h5>\u201cP3\u201d \u2013 Delayed (Green):<\/h5>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Necessitates medical intervention without urgency, and the individual can independently walk to treatment.<\/p>\n<h5>\u201cNOT BREATHING\u201d \u2013 (Silver): <\/h5>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a change from the MITT tool that used the term \u201cDEAD\u201d as most First Responders are not qualified to complete a ROLE (Recognition of Life Extinct) and confirm a victim\u2019s death.
