AeroWound Amorphous Wound Hydrogel is a clear, gel-based dressing designed to support advanced moisture management for a wide range of wounds. The gel formulation spreads easily across irregular wound beds, filling shallow gaps and covering delicate tissue with a smooth, cushioning layer. This helps protect the area from external contaminants while maintaining a balanced level of moisture at the surface of the wound.
The hydrogel is formulated with ingredients such as CMC, propylene glycol, calcium chloride and water, creating a stable, amorphous matrix. Propylene glycol helps draw and hold moisture in drier wound environments, while the gel structure absorbs excess exudate. This dual action supports the body’s natural processes by keeping the wound from drying out or becoming overly wet.
AeroWound Hydrogel is intended to rehydrate devitalised or necrotic tissue and assist gentle autolytic debridement. By softening and loosening non-viable material and supporting the preservation of fragile granulation tissue, it helps create conditions that are favourable for new tissue formation. The clear nature of the gel also aids visual inspection of the wound surface when dressings are changed.
This hydrogel can be used as part of a layered dressing regimen where a secondary dressing is applied over the gel to secure it in place. It is suitable for a variety of wound types where moisture balance and protection of delicate tissue are priorities, including certain chronic and complex wounds managed under professional supervision.
- Moisture-balancing gel: helps hydrate dry tissue while absorbing excess exudate.
- Supports gentle debridement: assists autolytic removal of devitalised tissue.
- Tissue friendly: designed to protect fragile granulation tissue during healing.
- Amorphous formulation: conforms to irregular wound beds for close contact.
- Clear appearance: allows easier observation of the wound surface at changes.
The amorphous hydrogel dressing format provides a clear, conforming gel that spreads easily across irregular wound beds, creating close contact with delicate tissue for effective moisture balance and comfort.
Supplied in a 25 g tube, this option allows controlled application of the hydrogel directly to the wound bed, supporting precise placement, reduced waste and easy integration into clinical or advanced first aid routines.
